Save the Dates: SUMMER at A-KEEP is Moving Forward!
The first day of summer officially passed us on June 20th, also known as the solar solstice. Meanwhile at A-KEEP, we are gearing up for three powerful events for the season:
Catch the K-Wave STARTALK summer camp is our annual 3–week Korean language and cultural education program. Rising 6th – 12th grade students will attend from July 6th – 23rd. We are proud to announce that our partner, Pike Road Schools, will allow students, based on ability, to receive a ½ unit of exploration credit as an elective. It’s not too late to apply!
Visit akeep.org/catch-the-k-wave for more information.
Korean Heritage Night is coming to the MGM Biscuits Stadium on July 16th. Our baseball fans will be able to watch a game and learn some culture through A-KEEP's partnership. Videos showcasing a variety of demonstrations of language and culture will be presented during the pre-game and between innings. Ticket sales will also serve as a fundraiser for A-KEEP. Our supporters can enjoy the event while helping us raise funds for Korean education. See our website at www.akeep.org for further instructions coming soon!
Challenge America’s production of The Devoted Daughter of the Sims continues to prepare for our stage debut on July 23rd. The cast of community members are working hard to bring an exciting performance of the musical at the Davis Theater in Montgomery. Tickets are $10 and will be available starting June 29th. For just $10 more, you can enjoy dinner and get a “Taste of Korea” after the show. Check back to akeep.org for detailed information coming soon!
Be sure to plug in to these events! It’s a summer you don’t want to miss! Contact join@akeep.org for any additional information.
