K-Pop Stars to shine in Montgomery!
Where does the name K-pop come from?
‘K-pop’ literally means ‘Korean pop(music)’. During its time, K-pop has been influenced by American, Japanese and European pop music. And now, K-pop is developing in its own way.
K-pop artists Jay Chang, BeomHan, and girl group INTER GIRLS will perform in Montgomery, September 28th at 7 p.m. These artists debuted last year, and they will show us new and exciting performances. They are coming to Alabama right after their concert in Atlanta.
Jay Chang is from New York, and he appeared in a TV show called ‘Under Nineteen’ to become a K-POP singer. He debuted with a song ‘아인(Is you)’ in 2020. He wrote the lyrics for the English version of his song. Among K-pop singers, it’s hard to find a singer who sings ballads. As autumn comes, it will be good to listen to this song!
Just like Jay Chang, BeomHan is from the U.S. and came to Korea to become a K-pop star. He released his new song ‘Ashes’ on August 20th. He wrote the lyrics for ‘Ashes’ and his first song ‘Sun’s up’! He participated in making the choreography too!
INTER GIRLS, also a 5-member singing group shows how popular K-pop has become in America because their very first performance will be in the U.S and not in Korea!
K-pop artist Boa and girl band Wonder Girls performed in U.S. in 2008 and 2009, but they had difficulty in promoting themselves. A few years later, beginning in 2012, PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’, BLACKPINK and BTS made K-POP in U.S. even bigger! So now is the time that Alabamians can look forward to a new K-POP stars shining here in Montgomery!
