SoJeong Kim came to Alabama only two weeks ago and already she has hit the ground running. The 24-year-old graduated last year from YongIn University with her degree in Korean dance. After a year of teaching ballet, SoJeong wanted to find a new experience. That is when she found A-KEEP.

SoJeong is excited to share her love of Korean traditional dance and K-POP to the community. Not only as our Challenge America choreographer, but through this year’s STARTALK Catch the K-Wave summer program, a 3-week intensive Korean language and culture program. This program runs July 6th to the 23rd from 8am to 3pm. It will be hosted physically at Pike Road Junior High School and virtually through Zoom.  Students will have an opportunity to learn more about Korean culture through dance. From K-POP artists BTS to Blackpink, SoJeong wants to fuse traditional and modern dance together to highlight Korean culture to her students.

She wants students to have a fun and exciting time and wants them to gain a meaningful experience through her teaching. So, make sure to register for STARTALK: Catch the K-Wave Korean language program. You can learn more and register here. Email startalk@akeep.org for any questions.
