Korean Heritage Night with AKEEP and ACDD
We have been partnered with the Alabama Council on the Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) for many years, but this story is the first of its kind and many more will to follow as Korean people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities started to embrace an Alabama life and take advantage of various Service Providers in Alabama.
The Montgomery Biscuits have partnered with us and established the Korean Heritage Night – It Is A GREAT EVENT! There are several co-sponsors who made the event more meaningful. One of them was ACDD. They hired a professional photographer for us and captured our moments, especially for Micheal Kim (Korean name, GangSan Kim). Those photos will be available in the future, but you can read his story that is blogged by his mother, Grace Kim.
Perhaps with more volunteers, we might be able to feature these kinds of stories in both languages. Please, spread the word! We need to discover talents who can take on the task of blogging or translation/interpretation for the communities we serve.
