“This year AKEEP will be showcasing a K-POP performance given by our own STARTALK students. My name is Jay and I’m the K-POP instructor for STARTALK this summer and have been preparing for the Korean Heritage Night on July 8th. The plan is to do a minute long segment from the new song “That That” by PSY ft. SUGA of BTS. This song is very high energy and fun. I believed it would fit perfectly for getting the audience excited for Korean Heritage Night. For the past three weeks, the students have been meeting with me over zoom to learn and practice the choreography. As the game day gets closer, we are moving to in-person practices to perfect everything we learned. Despite the song being difficult, they are all very determined to do their best. They haven’t performed yet but I am already so proud of all of them! “
